Some Good News

May 18th, 2011 at 05:06 pm

We e-mailed a bunch of friends and relatives about our UK trip yesterday. We always stay in London and few days and then head to a rental place near my in-law's home. Usually after a week there, we head out and explore another part of the UK.

After reading an interesting article in the NYT, we've decided on East Anglia this year, and wonder of wonders, one of our friends has a holiday cottage there (or her mother does) where they think we can stay for free! This doesn't seem like such a big deal in the US, but everything I've looked at was over 100 pounds a night for the three of us. This will be great news to the travel budget if it works!

I'm excited to read about your trip. The UK and Ireland are my last European frontiers to visit and I am DYING to go. Not sure if this planned vaca in the fall will happen, but if not I am going to go next spring alone. Suggestions on things to do and see would be appreciated.

Debtfree--do let me know if you want specifics on anywhere. I am increasingly staggered at how much everything costs there. It's always been expensive, but seems much worse to me since we left.

I will definitely contact you as I begin to plan. If I don't go to Singapore and Bali in the fall then I am hitting Ireland and the UK in the late spring of 2012.
