Making a List

June 8th, 2012 at 02:48 pm

Today is DD's first day off of school, and our job today is to make a "sand bucket list" of things we want to do this summer.

I spent nothing yesterday, but suspect those days may wane. I'm glad her camps are all paid ahead of time, and even more glad that the windows somehow didn't make this month's billing cycle on the Mastercard. The remaining $5900 now won't be due until late July.

Two more things sold from my ebay auctions, and I'd like to find more things to sell. One more remaining documentation class tonight. The extra $1000 has been good, but the two hours of driving has not.

It's DH's 49th birthday on Sunday, and I need a few more things for his gift bag. But what?

You could get him a James Marsh Edition Forever Rocked T-shirt from Selfridges.

Isn't Sunday the day where National Parks let you in for free? That may be a fun "sand bucket list."

49 is 7 x 7. Perhaps seven and seven cocktail fixings? Smile

He got specialty BBQ sauces, shower gel, a nice bottle of wine, and his joke gift --batteries-- He has some sort of OCD about batteries, both chargeable and disposable. He has a special battery wall storage organizer in the workshop room. That went with his books, CDs, etc. Not all that exciting but prices for our UK trip has curtailed spending.

I'd love to go to a National Park for free, but the nearest one is about 300 miles from here!

I like the sandbucket list idea a lot... I think if we do it, it will lead me to remember that it's a special time off for my kid, and that she has things that she wants to accomplish with this summer! Time flies during the months off, and we are moving, so I want some insurance that we will stay on the plan of making some parts memorable. I do like your gag gift for the DH, that's the stuff that shows you really know him. Nobody would have suggested "batteries" on here, that is for sure! Smile Jerry
