Early to Bed

December 5th, 2012 at 08:10 pm

After all the flu talk on the news, I'm finally getting a flu shot tomorrow. How about the rest of you?

And I've been beat, excited about London, tired from the semester, overloaded literally and figuratively, and haven't been sleeping well.

So, I'm off to bed. No significant other news.

Someone told me that if you get your flu shot at Safeway/Tom Thumb/Raleigh's that they have a deal where you get a $25 gift card. Not sure how long the promotion is lasting. I haven't had a chance to get by there yet since I heard about it (on Thanksgiving.)

Absolutely. I have one every year.

I get one every year! I don't have the time/funds to spend a week or so in bed. Plus mine is free through work. Lots of people in an enclosed building = lots of germs!

I started getting one every year when they became free a few years ago.

I don't get the flu shots anymore. I got them for ten years in a row, but every year I got them I would get a fever within two days and get sick within a week and I'd have the flu at least twice during that year. They only work against one or two strains. It was never the strain I got so I decided I might as well save the money. I wish they'd come up with a vaccine that was effective against all forms of the flu.

My insurance was supposed to pay for it, but the pharmacist couldn't figure it out, so I guess I'll have to submit the forms. I've had good luck with the shots; surrounded by a more than a hundred students almost every day, they provide decent protection for me. And I don't want to get sick in England! DD got one too; DH will this weekend.
