Wishing I liked cold

December 3rd, 2008 at 03:58 am

especially today with wind chills in the single digits and the energy bill arriving with an over $200 total. I've been wearing a fleece vest when I come home from school to try to avoid turning the heat up--but I like it warm. Although I guess 68 isn't all that warm.

The semester is starting to wind down, and I'm going to have to think of some ways to
make up for the lost class. I'd like to ebay some things before Christmas and rejuggle the budget. We've opted for a larger flex spending account deduction which will also seem like less in pocket, though it will save us about 30% probably.

I had a flu shot today so have given myself the evening off from grading papers and presentations. Maybe an early bedtime with a book? Now that's a dream come true!

I think that the weekend travel caught up with the residents at the house of Momsents, too. We were all in bed by 8 PM and slept til almost 7. I guess the allure of flannel sheets can be calling when the temp is 66 in the house!

You are doing better than I am, our house temp is set at 71 (which feels a little chilly), it hits 69 during the evening 12 midnight until 6am when DS and I are are sleeping, and a 50/50 chance DH will not be up playing computer games.

    68 is VERY warm, IMO.

When i was over my mom's for Tgiving, she kept it at probably some moderate temperature, but becus i'm so used to a chilly house, i actually started feeling overheated there and i thought the dining room chandeleir lights were putting off a lot of heat, except they weren't.

Ah Fern--I admire your strength. But my hands and feet get very cold, and I suspect it's a genetic thing. My dad was the same way.
