Cleaning the Garage

August 28th, 2017 at 05:22 am

DH and (briefly) DD and I spent the bulk of the afternoon cleaning the garage. We got a lot done, and happily I found a few things I can sell. I'll try to get them listed tomorrow. But what a yucky job. We tossed a bunch of wood and pipe found in the garage, recycled garden pots, threw away big sheets of plastic, folded tarps, and sorted all the various types of garage-dwelling liquids. We have two shelving units in there and have always rather slovenly just put all the various things on either shelf. I wiped down the shelves and separated the garden stuff from the automotive stuff. It looks much better. After a shower and a drink, we complimented ourselves on a job well done.

That is a very satisfying job, one that you don't think would be so satisfying but it is!

Well done! Coincidently, I too cleaned out of the garage of 'delayed decisions.' It seems to be the convenient gathering place to keep items that should have been released a long time ago. It's a task DH does after 1st snow fall as he must switch out summer supplies for easy access to winter stuff.

I'd added stick-on when we 1st bought the place]. It helps stuff to land in marked sections.

Rob--while my free lance work seems to be drying up, I'm not yet quite up for cleaning other garages. But isn't cleaning someone else's always more fun?
Snafu--stick ons are a great idea. We keep talking about it for our basement pantry shelves, but I really need to get on it.

My garage gets messy and disorganized more quickly than any other living space. Cleaning it IS satisfying but around here, it's only good for a month or so before it gets messy again.

My English Castle, sorry you aren't in the neighborhood or mood to clean our garage, but i totally understand. However, it has to be easier to clean someone else's garage since you don't have any emotional attachment to anything. LOL
