No Resolution

The payroll issues will not be resolved. The department chair says the university will NOT cut additional checks for folks, despite them being out over 1K each. He apologized: it's not his fault but I'm still really steamed and need to think of other things to get my mind on a more positive bent.
I just keep thinking how this would never happen in a real business. If you short someone money, you cut them another check. It's stupid. I can hardly wait to see how badly they screw up next month's check.

But onward. I need to photograph and list a bunch of stuff on ebay tomorrow. I have a dental appointment and a pile of grading, and a birthday present to buy.
I'd like to find a little fun in this grind of a week. Hmmm- what to do....?

    So you won't get your money at all? Or just have to wait for it? Government entities are often slow in making corrections, but the Army always seems to get it resolved eventually.

    If I were you, I would personally contact the state's department of labor. That sounds illegal. It's not as if you authorized your pay to be deposited somewhere else.

    I was wondering the same thing that cc free said.....will it just be Nov before it is all resolved or never? Ugh! What a nightmare! Frown

    We will eventually get the money, but it will be at least the first of November. This always happens to our academic staff, and indeed they are in contract violation by not paying us when promised. Their payroll system is a nightmare. Several of us are indeed thinking of filing a contract violation dispute, mostly so it can wake them up to the problem.
