Exhale

January 13th, 2018 at 07:48 pm

I always have tremendous conference presentation nerves which I don't totally understand since I stand in front of students and talk every darn day. But despite a hot room jammed with people, our talk went fine. I did a little networking, ate a rather lousy free lunch, and am now ready to start again on semester work. We all have Monday off for MLK day, but DD is in her intensive study mode.I think I'll spend a chunk of the day tomorrow and Monday getting everything lined up for the semester.

We are diligently--and indeed joyfully--eating through the pantry and freezer. Last night's excellent enchiladas incorporated taco leftovers, a lonely somewhat shriveled sweet potato, the chipotle cheese no one was eating, and one can of the four cans of enchilada sauce clogging up the cupboard. We also have a lot of pumpkin so I made a large loaf (now half gone) of pumpkin bread. I just extracted a bag of mixed beans that will transform into soup for DH's lunches next week.
I spent nothing yesterday and had a happy day at home.

I understand your nerves. When I was teaching I could talk in front of kids (8th grade or less) all day long with no problem. Add in older kids or adults ... yeah. Nerves galore.

Your enchiladas sound great! Often my best meals are composites of leftovers and fridge/pantry scraps.

We ate dinner from the freezer and pantry tonight! So thankful!

Fabulous on your presentation and networking!

I like your comment, "had a happy day at home." Speaks of true contentment!
